NUCLEOTIDES are the basic units of DNA and RNA, consisting of a sugar, phosphate group, and nitrogenous base A, U, C, G. RNA uses uracil (U) instead of thymine (T) during transcription. The T → U change happens during transcription to end with A, T, C, G with A pairing with T and C pairing with G as “base pairs.”
