The vibrant life of the Karlovy Vary of the Czech Republic is the home of hot springs which transform heated mineral water (temperature of more than 163 °F) to rapidly petrify materials in only a few weeks. The energy of these hot springs permeates the entire city and spouts up to a height of 36 feet in places. Merchants create “petrified rose” souvenirs for tourists.
