OBSERVED PROCESSES OF TODAY DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR SEDIMENTARY LAYERS

The Shinarump Conglomerate sedimentary layer covers about 125,000 square miles and averages 50 feet in thickness. Large boulders and coarse grains of rocks required massive water currents to carry these sediments. Abundant petrified wood is found in these layers also indicating a sudden occurrence due to flooding. No observable modern processes can account for this sedimentary layering.
