NEUTRAL THEORY proposes that many genetic mutations are neutral and that therefore, somehow, these good mutations add up to macroevolution as “genetic drift.” It postulates that silent mutations that do not modify the native protein fold somehow can lead to morphology. There is no evidence for this claim.
